FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA Therapy, uses scientifically proven reinforcement techniques to improve, expand on, or extinguish, specific behaviors. That’s it! Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) work in tandem with therapists to develop and facilitate a plan to increase or decrease targeted behaviors.

What does this really mean? What does this look like for my child?

We use science, data, and observation to help your child learn new skills, new behaviors, that are going to help them in their lives. Through primarily play, we take the data collected to create programming targeted to your child’s needs.

Here at Village Vantage we pride ourselves on providing high quality therapy, through high quality professionals. Our BCBA’s come with years of experience, in a variety of settings, hand selected based on history to fit your child’s needs – they will be creating your child’s treatment plans, supervising therapists, working with your family on caregiver support, as well as providing direct therapy as well. We operate similarly with our therapists, hiring professionals who have either completed their masters degree, or or working towards it, and have long-time experience in the world of ABA and corresponding fields. Depending on need, your child’s team will contain their BCBA, and 1-2 additional therapists to guide them towards their goals!

Every child is unique and will progress at their own pace. Often, changes begin within weeks, but sometimes it takes longer to start noticing improvements. We understand immediate progress is the dream (as it is ours!), and ABA therapy is the scientifically proven ticket to mastering more skill, building communication and increasing behavior management – which is why it is the recommended treatment for children on the autism spectrum.

If you or your pediatrician are concerned that your child might be on the autism spectrum, make an appointment with a developmental pediatrician or set up a psychological or neurological evaluation with a specialist. Once you have received a confirmed autism diagnosis, please call our offices and we can arrange for one of our behavioral experts to conduct an assessment, in order to identify your child’s skills and deficits. Following this evaluation, we will create an individualized therapeutic program and collaborate with your family to create a plan of action.

Once your child has a diagnosis of autism, we can get started quickly and, in most locations, are able to operate efficiently! Our therapists can work at your location of choice—at home, at school or within the community. Our services are offered year-round and can be available during the school day, after school, nights and weekends, as needed.

Village Vantage is an out of network provider. This means we do not directly work with/are in network with insurance companies. However, Village Vantage collaborates with companies to assist families in receiving some level (from partial to full) of reimbursement based on their individual healthcare plans. Families are provided with a superbill that may be submitted to their insurances for reimbursement purposes.
